North Suburban Orthopedic Associates physical therapy units provide expertise in orthopedic and sports medicine physical therapy. We have been providing physical therapy to our surrounding communities for over fifteen years! Our therapists provide specialized care to individuals with a wide variety of diagnoses, including chronic pain, injuries sustained in sports, at work, and in motor vehicle accidents. We also work with local school systems and atheletes both on and off the field, providing them with immediate and ongoing care to ensure a safe and rapid return to sports. Office Visits Our Patients We accomodate new patients within 24-48 hours of referral and reserve time for those patients who need appointments before or after work. Each time a patient has a follow up appointment with their doctor we send a detailed progress report with them to ensure thorough communication and monitor treatment planning. Hours and Locations There are physical therapy units at all three N.S.O.A. locations: Malden, Everett, and Melrose. We offer hours from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday at all locations. Therapy & Treatment Patient treatment is one-on-one with a fully licensed therapy provider. In addition to providing highly skilled manual therapy, we are advocates of a patient's active participation in a home exercise program.Our facilities have state of the art equipment and a health club affiliation which allows us to provide aquatic and fitness equipment for specific strength training programs. We also fabricate custom orthotics in just one hour at our Malden clinic for a fraction of the cost of others. Back & Neck Education A special element that sets us apart from other facilities is that we offer biweekly back and neck education programs. These one and a half hour interactive presentations educate patients on the structure and function of the spine. In addition, patients get hands-on practice and are taught proper posture and body mechanics for activities of daily living, recreation and work. We also discuss fitness, nutrition, stress reduction and how that relates to the healing process. Many patients tell us that his is the best treatment session they have had!
